Brian Klink profile

 Brian Klink SEP, CPRC, CCRC

I’ve had a lot of life, and nothing brings me greater joy than drawing on my experience to come alongside another who is asking for help. The pain of a divorce that ended a 30 year relationship led me into a deep and painful but beautiful journey toward discovering and learning to love the real me. I recognized the need to slow down from my overly-busy, 500 mile per hour life. In the end, my lifestyle was exhausting and ultimately led to my own challenges with love addiction, binge drinking, insomnia, and finally, divorce. The changes I began to see in myself were so profound that I voluntarily left behind a successful and lucrative 30-year pilot career so that I’d be more available to others looking for similar change.

As a Somatic Experiencing® Practitioner (SEP)  and Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed addiction recovery coach, I work with the trauma that underlies addiction, helping my clients restore a sense of resilience and vitality. I’ve been so inspired by my learning and growth in my Somatic Experiencing trauma healing journey that I’m now in graduate school for mental health counseling.

My gentle, caring approach helps to create a felt sense of safety and foster curiosity with clients. Through a calm, co-regulating presence, I assist clients in accessing a deeper awareness of their memories, emotions and sensory experience. The result is greater self-acceptance, the ability to make desired changes, and finding flow where there was once stuckness.

Our hurts, habits, and hangups are related more to our biological adaptation to life stresses than they are about our morality, so-called “failures,” or our goodness or badness as a person. I’ve found this outlook to be unshaming, destigmatizing, and incredibly liberating -  in my own self-work as well as in my work with clients.
